Waterfront property documentation

Questions owners ask before the details become urgent.

Plain answers about waterfront records, boat-lift information, repair quotations, project reporting, and CurrentPoint’s defined role.

01

What is a Waterfront Property Record?

It is an organized digital record of the visible docks, boat lifts, seawalls, electrical equipment, marine hardware, reference dimensions, identifying labels, photographs, and available documents associated with a waterfront property.

02

Why create the record before maintenance, a storm, or a property sale?

Many owners do not have one reliable place for equipment details, manuals, warranties, invoices, or repair history. Creating the record before the information becomes urgent gives owners, agents, managers, and service providers a clearer starting point.

03

What boat-lift information can CurrentPoint document?

The review can record visible manufacturer labels, model and serial numbers, motors, controls, cables, structural configuration, reference measurements, and other accessible details. CurrentPoint may explain practical weight and boat-size limits indicated by visible equipment information and the current configuration, but does not certify capacity or safety.

04

Can CurrentPoint determine whether a dock, lift, or seawall is safe?

No. CurrentPoint does not provide structural engineering, marine surveying, underwater inspection, electrical inspection, code certification, or safety certification. Concerns in those areas are referred to properly qualified, licensed, and insured professionals.

05

Does the service include CAD drawings?

CAD drawings based on reference measurements collected during the review can be included when stated in the written scope. These are documentation drawings, not engineered plans, permit drawings, or structural certifications.

06

How does Repair Quote Coordination help?

CurrentPoint organizes the requested outcome, photographs, measurements, and relevant records; coordinates vendor access and questions; and compares written proposals line by line so owners can see differences, exclusions, allowances, and unresolved items.

07

Does CurrentPoint recommend or guarantee contractors?

No. CurrentPoint can identify appropriate vendor categories and coordinate communication, but does not provide contractor licensing services or guarantee pricing, scheduling, condition, or workmanship. Owners should independently verify licensing, insurance, references, and contract terms.

08

What does Project Progress Reporting cover?

At agreed milestones, CurrentPoint photographs visible progress, compares it with the written scope supplied by the owner, and documents deliveries, delays, questions, and change requests. The report is not an inspection, certification, or approval of the work.

09

Can CurrentPoint help an absentee owner?

Yes. The services are designed to give owners an organized property record, coordinated information, and dated progress visibility when they cannot regularly be on site.

10

Do you work with commercial waterfront properties and marinas?

Yes. Commercial and marina documentation can cover multiple docks, slips, lifts, seawalls, utilities, equipment identifiers, and existing records. The scope and price depend on the property size and number of assets.

11

What areas does CurrentPoint serve?

CurrentPoint serves Jacksonville, the Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Amelia Island, Fernandina Beach, St. Augustine, and surrounding Northeast Florida by appointment.

12

How do I begin?

Email CurrentPoint with the property location, a brief description of the waterfront, and what records you already have. CurrentPoint will define the assets to be documented and provide a written scope and fixed quotation before work begins.
